Fabulous Art Nouveau era button featuring a gilded swan and an iris on the darkened metal. The foliage of the large iris bloom and the swan’s wing shape the border. The button is also found with a shell background and was made for French designer Jacques Doucet, who created designs for actresses of the time, including Sara Bernhardt.
